Installation

This Powerstroke delete kit can be installed at home using basic hand tools in approximately 1–3 hours. The process is even faster with access to a vehicle lift. Some minor cutting may be required for short-bed or custom cab configurations. The package includes all necessary clamps, hangers, and hardware—you may need to reuse a few factory bolts.

Pro Tips:

  • The EGR inlet bolts at the exhaust manifold are prone to breakage, particularly on 2015–2017 models. It’s recommended to have a thread repair jig on hand just in case.
  • Always complete the tuner setup and load the delete tune file before physical installation to prevent CELs or limp mode.
  • For the Mini Maxx V2 delete tuner, you’ll need to submit your device serial number after delivery. Tune file generation typically takes 1–3 business days.

Tuner Required for Installation

Removal of the DPF, CAT, SCR, and DOC involves disconnecting multiple emissions-related sensors. To prevent check engine lights (CEL) and diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), a compatible delete tuner is absolutely required.

SPELAB recommends using trusted devices like the Mini Maxx V2 or EZ Lynk to ensure smooth operation. Without proper tuning, your 6.7L Powerstroke will enter limp mode or fail to start entirely.

This kit’s included 6.7 Powerstroke delete pipe completely replaces the restrictive factory DPF system. However, optimal performance and reliability are only achieved when paired with correct ECU recalibration.
