A cat-back system replaces everything from the catalytic converter to the tailpipe: mid-pipe, resonator, muffler, and exhaust tip. It retains the catalytic converter and is emissions-legal in most states.

Expect 5–15 HP on naturally aspirated engines. Sound improvement is more noticeable than power gains. Turbocharged vehicles benefit more when paired with a tune and intake upgrade.

No tuning is required for bolt-on cat-back systems. Unlike DPF-back or turbo-back exhausts, cat-back kits do not alter emissions hardware and will not trigger fault codes.

Yes. All SPELAB cat-back kits use factory flange locations and standard clamp connections. No welding is required. DIY installation takes 1–2 hours with basic hand tools.
