6. FAQ โ Common Questions Answered
When considering a 6.7 Cummins tuner delete kit, many truck owners have similar questions. Below, weโve answered some of the most frequently asked ones to help guide your decision-making process.
โ Will deleting my 6.7 Cummins void the warranty?
Yes. Performing a delete tune for 6.7 Cumminsโremoving the DPF, EGR, or DEF systemsโcan void your factory powertrain warranty. If your truck is still under warranty, consider the risks carefully or consult with a trusted diesel shop.
โ Can I daily drive a deleted truck?
Absolutely. Thousands of drivers daily their deleted trucks without issue. With proper tuning and regular maintenance, a tuner for deleted 6.7 Cummins can offer smoother performance, better throttle response, and even improved MPG.
โ Will a delete kit improve my fuel economy?
Yes. Most users report a 10โ15% increase in MPG after installing a DEF delete kit for 6.7 Cummins, especially when combined with a tuner and full DPF delete pipe. Real-world results may vary based on driving habits and tune selection.
โ Do I need custom tuning, or is the preloaded tuner enough?
SPELAB delete kits include preloaded tunes via the Mini Maxx V1 or V2, so no custom tuning is required for most builds. These tunes are tested and reliable, covering all major emissions deletes (DPF, EGR, DEF). For advanced builds (larger turbo, injectors, etc.), custom tuning may be beneficial.
โ Whatโs the difference between DPF delete and full delete?
-
DPF delete removes only the diesel particulate filter.
-
Full delete typically includes EGR, DPF, DEF, and CCV deletes, providing maximum airflow and performance.
If you're looking for a complete 2018 6.7 Cummins delete kit with tuner, we recommend choosing a full delete setup for best results.
โ Will I get a check engine light (CEL) after installing a delete kit?
No, as long as the tune is installed before removing emissions parts. The tuner disables the related sensors, preventing codes. Both Mini Maxx V1 and V2 are designed to work seamlessly with our kits.
โ Can I pass inspection with a deleted truck?
In most areas, deleted trucks are not legal for on-road emissions compliance, especially in states with strict testing (e.g., California). These kits are intended for off-road or race use only. Always check your local laws before deleting.
If you have any other questions about your specific setupโwhether you're running a 2016 Ram 2500 delete kit with tuner, or a 2008 6.7 Cummins DPF and EGR delete kit with tunerโour team is here to help.

Let customers speak for us
from 2447 reviews
Good fit, sounds awesome, definitely made a difference, hose clamps could be a little better, holes was off a little for the sensors, but for the price overall good product!

They have great customer service what I order was much better than what I was expecting to receive thank you for guys for everything

This was a very easy install, the parts seems to be good quality.

Great products, the updates and revisions to there parts show they care about making things better. 100% would buy all my parts from Spelab.

Directions were not good and there isnโt a heater bolt yet..but the product is great and you canโt beat the price. Happy with the product.

This is a good upgrade. I change the rear differential fluid frequently so now I will be able to drain and refill more easily. Easy install. No leaking. Hardware and gasket included. Very happy

I was impressed with the build quality. And very happy with the cover features: fill plug, drain plug, sight glass, nice paint, cooling fins and machined channels on the inside to direct fluid flow. I also put in some AMSOIL diff fluid. A winning combo. Love that gasket and premium hardware is included. A much better deal than the Banks cover. This cover will cool plenty abd direct fluids where it needs to go. Iโm happy with my investment and highly recommend.

Fairly straight forward to install. My truck seems to be running and breathing a ton better.

Installed this billet version onto my 2019 Roush F150 recently. I wanted a cover that had the proper fluid flow vaning and fill and drain plugs to make future fluid changes easier, as I plan to renew the fluid every 30k miles. The sight glass so you can see the level and the condition of the fluid is also a great feature. I did quite a bit of research on which cover I wanted to install and saw the fluid flow issues with the square back covers, whereas this one has the proper curved design and vanes in it to direct the fluid that's coming over the top to the correct places of the differential for proper lubrication. I went with the billet one so that it's stronger than the lower priced cast version, as I keep my vehicles forever (20 years and 200k miles or more) and would rather do it right one time than have to do it again. The magnetic plugs to capture any ferrous gear wear is also a nice benefit. Installed with LubeLocker gasket.

Fit like crap. As did the down pipe. I got ppe ones and no refund from spelab

Fits very well and is really well constructed. Also looks really good installed in the truck!

Fit, "Like a glove!"

Didnโt have an issue with the install. Instructions werenโt real clear but overall the install was easy. Parts seemed to be good quality.

Fit nice and looks great!

I love it wish I had a tuner for my truck now, but I love it thank you
